aaahhh Pinkeye.

So, I woke up this morning and had pinkeye.  It has been more than a decade since I have been cursed with such a thing.  I used to get it when I was in elementary school like it was my job.  Let's hope that's not the case!
p.s. I can't believe how much I look like Bobby in this picture!!!

I know it's only April but...

I'm going to attempt a Picture a Day in the Month of May.  I've been thinking about it for a while.  I hope I have the perseverance to pull it off.  I am a little nervous.  Especially now that I've posted this I can be held accountable for it!  Wish me luck!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Jake is home!  :º)  Just in case you didn't read the last two posts.
2.We went to the Children's museum last Friday with the preschool.  It was SO much fun!  The kids were fantastic!!!
3. This is Miss Tiffany.  She's Michael's teacher.  All the kids all love and respect her!  Let's be honest, we love her too! 4. Michael came up to me the other day and said, "Guess what Mommy?"  I said "What Buddy?" He said, "I love you all the way to Heaven!!!"  Melts my heart!
5. For the record, my Aunts used to say that to us.  Only they would say "I love you all the way to Heaven and Back!"  Aaahh, memories!
6. Angela is getting married in 11 days!!!   7. For the record, I lost enough weight to buy a dress 4 sizes smaller than I was when she got engaged!
8. I owe that to my two aunts who are so amazing and completely inspirational!!!
9. I just have to thank Gwenn one more time for helping us all feel as though we were there when Jake got off that plane!  I love you Gwenn!  THANK YOU!!!
10.  This is one of the greatest bath inventions ever!  Once Carter got too big for his tub, I had to do something.  This keeps him safe and lets him play in the bath with Michael all at the same time!  I love it!  Especially because I have to bathe two kids at the same time when Brian is at school.  LIFE SAVER!

This Just In...

Gwenn sent a play-by-play to Aunt Maureen.  There were approximately 120 pictures!  It was really like being there.  I'm so thankful.
My girls holding their signs.  They were so proud and REALLY excited to have those signs.  Gwenn said some of the soldiers sought her out to thank her for all the wonderful packages.  Thank you to all the friends and family who sent Jacob and his Battery care packages.  They REALLY appreciated them!  All of them! There Here!!!  I LOVE how you can see Jadyn holding her sign and just longing to see her Jake. Home at last!!! Look at that handsome Marine!!!  He's the second from the left! Welcome home Jacob!!!  See you in a couple weeks!!!

God Bless AMERICA!!!

Lord, Thank you so much for keeping our Jacob safe over there!  Thank you for delivering him safely back to Hawaii!  AMEN!
We all missed you so much Jake!  We are REALLY STOKED that you are safe and can not wait to see you!  Love you Jacob!!!
Gwenn was fortunate enough to be there when Jake got off his plane.  This is Jacob and Isaac's first meeting.  Gwenn shot this photo to Aunt Maureen and Maureen was able to send it to everyone with the blessed news that her baby made it home!!!  Thank you so much Gwenn for being there!!!   This was taken in August.  We all went to Newport and Grandma wanted to see Jake in his dress uniform.  He was proud to oblige.
This was his going away party.  That's one good lookin' group!

Dah Nunt nunt nunt... Another One Bites The Dust

'Round these parts, (I figured this was the only appropriate way to start this one) deer are easy to come by.  That's right.  Brian hit a deer just last Monday.  Turns out, our luck doesn't run out there.  Last night, on the way home from the store, a deer decides it would be a good idea to run out in front of my Explorer.  A samaritan stopped to help and, when his children said, "Daddy!  It's still moving!"  he obliged them and euthenized the poor thing.
We replaced a car seat on Thursday.  Said car seat was in the Explorer and now needs replacing again.  Everyone involved is fine.  Well, except the deer that is.  I suppose 3 car seats in a week should be some kind of record.  *sigh*

10 on Tuesday

1. We have a walker.  That Carter has been taking little 4 step voyages since a week before his birthday.  Last night he took a stroll down the hallway and today he's walking everywhere!!!
2. My computer needs more memory.
3. I can't fit any more pictures on my mac till I erase about 4,000 pictures or so.  Did you know that an ibook G-4, iphoto fills at approximately 8,000 pictures?
4. I backed up said ibook and will start erasing soon so I can get some new pictures on this baby!
5. Brian hit a deer last night.  He's fine.  The car will be sleeping over at the body shop for a couple days.
6. I'm REALLY excited to go on Friday's field trip to the Children's museum in WV!!!  I LOVE helping at Michael's school!
7. I also love watching my kids play together.  Carter just watches Michael sometimes.  I can't tell if he's soaking it all in or if he's thinking "That brother of mine is SO _______!"
8. Keith and Cille are bringing Pat and Todd to a Braves game tonight.  Cheese is not looking forward to the cold.
9. It was so great to see those Morgans for Easter.
10. My wonderful, loving husband was walking down the dark hallway the other night and walked, nose first, into the closed bathroom door.  I almost fell over, I was laughing so hard.  It's a good thing he married me.  Our family does stuff like that all the time.

Repulsive

So... We went to Target today.  We went in the family bathroom because, well, it's just easier that way.  Michael went to the bathroom and I was changing Carter.  Michael made some weird noise so I looked over.  He was L-I-C-K-I-N-G THE WALL!!!!   Eeewww eeewww eeewww eeewww!!! :ºP
The germ-a-phobe in me FREAKED OUT!  Did I say "EEEEWWWW"?

Paybacks are...

Inevitable.
I'm afraid I have found my payback child.  Today I have taken Carter off of the TV stand at least 4 times.  I realize that we are all due what we dish out but I wasn't expecting it from my one year old.  When I was little, I was a climber.  We had the biggest swing set in the neighborhood and one day we were seeing who could go the highest or something.  Dad was sitting on the sofa in the living room when he saw me.  I was balance-beam walking on the highest bar.  It was probably 9 or 10 feet off the ground.  He said he never moved so fast and so slow at the same time.  He didn't want to scare me but he wanted to get me down as fast as possible.  I had no fear.  Walking one side of the monkey bars was pretty much a daily occurrence.  I would do flips off them and, somehow, always land on my feet.
Here's to you Carter Baby!
